Kazakhstan to modernize nine vehicle checkpoints on border with three countries

Astana. January 10. KazTAG – Kazakhstan is going to modernize nine vehicle checkpoints on border with three countries, reports the press service of the Prime Minister.
“Full-scale modernization of vehicle checkpoints continues in Kazakhstan. As of today, a total of nine checkpoints on the border with China, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have been upgraded. As part of the planned work, it is expected that the throughput will increase to six times a day, from an average of 170 to 960 vehicles, as well as the border crossing time will be reduced to 30 minutes. The modernization of nine checkpoints is planned to be completed this year,” reads the report.
The Cabinet of Ministers added that an automated electronic queue system has been introduced at all 10 vehicle border checkpoints along the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union. It can be used on the Qoldau.kz platform and through the CargoRuqsat mobile application.
“The introduction of the system has made it possible to eliminate the physical accumulation of vehicles along roads of national importance and ensured the transparency of the transportation process,”  said the government.
