Sugar beet or cane processing plant is to be built in Atyrau region

Atyrau. February 7. KazTAG – A sugar plant worth T58 billion, processing 900 thousand tons of sugar beet or cane raw materials, is planned to be built in the Atyrau region, reports the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
“Goldbridge International Company LLP is implementing a large-scale project in the region to build a sugar plant with a capacity of 144 thousand tons of sugar per year. (…) The cost of the project is T58 billion,” the report said on Friday.
Production will require about 900 thousand tons of raw sugar beet or cane materials. The project will be aimed at meeting the sugar needs of the domestic market.
“The investor has held negotiations with an Atyrau company that is ready to grow sugar beets,” said the Ministry of Agriculture.
