“President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, who arrived in Astana on an official visit,” reads the statement.
Welcoming the guest, the head of state outlined the importance of this meeting for further strengthening multifaceted interstate ties.
“Your visit is of great importance in terms of further promoting our cooperation with fraternal Azerbaijan. Relations with Azerbaijan are very important for us. We consider your country a reliable strategic partner and ally,” said the president.
In turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm welcome and emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral relations.
"Taking this opportunity, Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for the prompt assistance following the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Aktau," the statement said.
The parties discussed major strategic projects, including laying a fiber-optic communication line and a deep-sea electric cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
