China has raised a child in its own image and likeness

Astana. August 29. KazTAG – Amir Kasenov. Everyone has long been accustomed to the fact that China is a giant state with a developed and globally recognized civilization dating back thousands of years, the country which has  progressing economy, science and technology, and an ever-expanding global influence, but not everyone knows that in the heart of this country there is a huge gigapolis, which already now absolutely embodies the Celestial Empire itself in everything – this is Chongqing – the largest city in the world.
Chongqing, like China itself, takes its roots deep in the centuries and shares one common destiny with it. The city with a history of 3 thousand years (yes, it is 2 thousand years younger than the Celestial Empire itself) has overcome a variety of ordeals, but not only managed to survive, but also turned into a giant that holds the economy of half the world on its shoulders. People learn about the ordeals of the city mainly from the stories of tour guides who show the rock reliefs of Dazu to tens of millions of tourists every year, which the Chinese have not only managed to preserve, but also make every effort to popularize them. And not without success - for example, the creators of the high-budget video game Black Myth: Wukong, which was a sensation long before the release, were inspired by the rock compositions of the Dazu Valley. At the same time, the basis of the Chongqing economy is its transport hub, which can be called without exaggeration the heart and circulatory system of that part of world trade that is somehow connected with China, that is, the lion's share of global trade. Due to its beneficial geographical location on the banks of the Yangtze and well-built land and air routes, Chongqing makes it possible to deliver goods from China to any point in the world, even by land, and within 10 days. It is obvious that the transport system is fundamental and city-forming for this settlement with 34 million people, providing at least 20% of the city's economy, but why not all 100%?

Because modern Chongqing does not live on logistics alone. For example, it may be a discovery for Kazakhstani people that the Haval and Tank cars, which are gaining popularity in Kazakhstan, are manufactured in this city. In fact, here is a small spoiler - the Kazakhstan market has become so attractive for China that the latest flagship model of the Tank SUV, as the manufacturer declared to a KazTAG journalist, will be received by Kazakhstan almost simultaneously with Chinese motorists.

In addition to its huge and rapidly developing auto industry, Chongqing can also boast of being an influential cinematographic center, offering advanced technologies in the field of film production. Now this city is a place of pilgrimage for filmmakers. For example, the creators of the famous media franchise "Transformers" chose Chongqing to film the fourth part of the sequel.

At the same time, the city is also known as a major scientific and educational center. Modern Chongqing is a heart of personnel for the most demand professions, offering the best practices and scientific developments needed in a variety of industries.

At the same time, there are universities in the city that not only teach students, but also develop driverless cars. This is a miracle of modern engineering thought, using a system that includes artificial intelligence, various sensitive cameras and sensors, as well as the sources of the Internet. Chinese designers are working not only on the technology itself, but also on a road marking system, thanks to which the unmanned traffic of motor vehicles will root out accidents and make travel on such cars comfortable. In the future, the developers plan to create flying vehicles. Chongqing engineers admit that although such technology will be expensive at the initial stage, as time goes by it will become available to the mass consumer. As an example, they cite the already mentioned driverless car, which at the initial stage cost about 400 thousand yuan, and now costs about 200 thousand, that is, in a short time since its release for the first time, the cost of this car has decreased by half. It is noteworthy that Chinese developers are ready to share their developments with the whole world, believing that advanced scientific and technical developments that simplify and improve the life of ordinary people should be the achievement of all mankind.

In addition, there is an aviation university in Chongqing, which not only trains future aviators, but is also a base for repairing aircraft. Local designers know that, for example, in Kazakhstan, fields are cultivated with light-engine manned aircraft, and are ready to share their experience, noting that Chinese farmers have long switched to cultivating crops using unmanned aerial vehicles. Moreover, in a talk with a KazTAG journalist, aviators from Chongqing expressed a direct interest in importing their unmanned aerial vehicles to the Kazakhstani market. At the same time, Chongqing trains not only engineers, but also service personnel for the aviation industry, such as flight attendants – after all, this is also a profession, and they play a big role, because these are specialists who work exclusively with people.

Undoubtedly, the transport sector deserves special attention. The city is gigantic, to drive from one end to the other by car will take many hours, which is not surprising, because the agglomeration is located on  several intermountain valleys, but this is not an insurmountable problem. The city has a metro and a extended bus network, which make it easy to commute without any problems.

The city is inclusive - there are no dead ends and insurmountable obstacles or distances. Chongqing is also called the city of elevators and escalators. The largest of them even received a special name - Royal.

Any foreigner, having seen all of this, will want to have the same opportunities at home, while Chongqing is just an example, but in fact, this is the situation throughout China. Chongqing is just one of a number of large agglomerations that, although not similar to each other in terms of geography or climate, have a lot in common in what can be called a contribution to the rapid progress of China. This applies to the economy, culture, science, technology, and the social sphere.

It would take a long time to list everything that this city can boast about, but the main thing is obvious - Chongqing is flesh and blood of modern China. Just as powerful and influential, at the same time, just as warm and hospitable, ready to make every effort for global growth and prosperity.

It is therefore not surprising that Chongqing has been given a central role in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, as a city that demonstrates the principle of China's openness to the outside world.

And in fact, like China as a whole, the city is doing a great job.
