About T100 million will be spent on research into impact of time zone changes on Kazakhstani people

Astana. November 20. KazTAG – About T90-100 million will be spent on research into the impact of time zone changes on Kazakhstanis, said Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education.
“The application came in at T160 million – a three-year budget, but in reality it will be lower, I think by at least half, about T90-100 million. We will announce a tender and the national scientific council will determine the real cost,” Nurbek said.
The minister explained that this will be an applied, not a sociological study.
"There is such a concept as circadian rhythms. These are the biological rhythms in which all living organisms exist. That is, the cycles that wake us up in the morning, make us sleep in the evening, and so on. The production of hormones, melatonin, and so on. Therefore, firstly, the hormonal level, the production of melatonin, and primarily the influence of circadian rhythms will be clearly compared, whether they coincide with the decision that was made," explained the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
