Astana. November 26. KazTAG – Wear and tear or Kazakhstan's locomotive makes over 60%, said
Transport Minister Marat Karabayev.
"One of the important issues is the wear and tear of rolling stock, which requires timely renewal and modernization. Currently, the total number of locomotive fleet is 1,807 units. The wear and tear level is 61%," Karabayev said at a government meeting.
This year, Kazakhstan purchased 185 locomotives (173 units have been delivered, with additional delivery planned by the end of the year - 12 units), and next year it planned to buy another 187 units, with another 257 locomotives expected to be delivered in the next three years.
According to the minister, this will completely eliminate the deficit.
