Over 13,000 foreign specialists are employed in Kazakhstan

Astana. November 26. KazTAG – 13,246 foreign citizens are working under permits from local executive bodies in Kazakhstan. Most of them are employed in the construction and industrial sectors,  said the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Kazakhstan.
“As of November 1, 2024, 13,246 foreign citizens were working in Kazakhstan under permits from local executive bodies,” the report said.
The foreign workers are engaged in various activities, including management, technical work, and seasonal employment. Of the specialists attracted, 543 hold management positions, 2,514 are heads of departments, 4,859 are qualified specialists, and 917 are workers. In addition, 1,120 people work in seasonal jobs, and 3,293 are involved in corporate transfers.
There are 1,789 employers in Kazakhstan using foreign labor. At the same time, the share of Kazakhstan citizens among the employees of these companies is 96.8%, or 389.8 thousand people.
Foreign workers are most in demand in construction, where 5,155 people are employed. 1,387 specialists work in the manufacturing industry, 1,359 in the mining industry, and 1,168 in agriculture.
The main countries of origin of foreign workers are China, from where 4,664 people arrived, Uzbekistan (1,230), Turkey (1,150) and India (1,108).
