Tokayev signed amendments on mandatory registration of mopeds

Astana. October 4. KazTAG – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed amendments on mandatory registration of mopeds.
“The head of state signed the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Organization of the Movement of Certain Types of Vehicles and the Digitalization of Road Safety,” Akorda reports.
Tokayev also signed the law “On Amendments to the Code of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses on the Organization of the Movement of Certain Types of Vehicles and the Digitalization of Road Safety.”
The amendments are intended to improve the efficiency of legal regulation of issues arising in the sphere of organizing the movement of certain types of vehicles and to reduce the level of road accidents. Thus, in accordance with the norms of the documents, mopeds are included in the list of mechanical vehicles eligible for mandatory state registration. A number of additional requirements are also introduced aimed at enhancing the safety of passenger transportation, including training of transport drivers.
