“President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumarou Sisoku Embalo, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, visited the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC). AIFC Governor Renat Bekturov spoke about the structure of the financial center and the main areas of its activities. According to him, priority areas of cooperation between the two countries at the center could be investments, green and Islamic financing, as well as training of personnel in the financial sector,” reads the report.
To date, the volume of investments attracted through the AIFC amounted to $14 billion, of which $6.7 billion are portfolio investments on the Astana International Exchange. More than 3,400 companies from 85 countries are registered in the center, including six companies from the African continent.
"The presidents of Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau were informed about the work of the AIFC Court - the first judicial system in Central Asia based on the norms and principles of case law, as well as about the functioning of the International Arbitration Center and the Green Finance Center. The heads of state also learnt the activities of the Astana Financial Services Authority and the specifics of the financial center's regulatory regime," Akorda added.
