Tokayev called Putin's visit a historic event

Astana. November 28. KazTAG – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan a historic event and an important milestone in bilateral relations. The leaders discussed a wide range of issues, signed strategic documents and outlined plans for further deepening cooperation, reports  Akorda.
“Russia is a strategic partner and a reliable ally for Kazakhstan. We are united by unbreakable bonds of friendship, centuries-old good neighborliness and a common history. Based on these enduring values, our states have built meaningful relationships aimed at the future. Kazakh-Russian cooperation has reached an unprecedented height, covering almost all key areas of interaction,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a media briefing.
During the visit, the Presidents emphasized the importance of bilateral economic cooperation. Tokayev noted that Russia is one of the three largest investors in Kazakhstan. Since 2020, 49 joint projects worth almost $30 billion have been implemented in the state, and the trade turnover between the two countries is striving to exceed $30 billion. In the energy sector, large-scale projects are being discussed, including gasification of Kazakhstan's regions and the development of new transport corridors.
In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, Tokayev announced the creation of the "Alley of Kazakh-Russian Friendship" in Astana, plans to open new branches of Russian universities and strengthen ties through joint events.
Russian President Vladimir Putin highly appreciated the results of the visit and emphasized the importance of the ambitious goals set out in the joint statement.
"We discussed in detail a wide range of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian fields. We exchanged views on the hottest regional and international issues. The Joint Statement that was signed sets new ambitious goals for further deepening the strategic partnership between our two countries,” he said.
Following the talks, the parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation within the CIS, EAEU, CSTO and other international organizations, strengthening allied relations.
