Over-the-counter purchases of dollars and euros decreased in September in Kazakhstan, while yuan and ruble increased

Astana. October 7. KazTAG –Over-the-counter purchases of euros and US dollars in Kazakhstan in September compared to August 2024 decreased, while yuan and ruble increased, said the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Over-the-counter purchases of US dollars in September compared to August 2024 decreased by 10%, to $8 billion, while euros decreased by 2.4 times, to 9.4 million euros.
According to the document, purchases of the Russian ruble increased by 37% to 20 billion rubles, and yuan by 6.3 times to 122 million yuan.
Purchases of pounds sterling remained unchanged at 100 thousand.
The average weighted purchase rate of the US dollar averaged T481.8, the Russian ruble - T5.21, the euro - T533.05, the yuan - T67.83, and the pound sterling - T633.09.
