More than 161 thousand hectares of unused land returned to state in the Karaganda region

Karaganda. November 26. KazTAG - Since the beginning of 2024, more than 161 thousand hectares of unused agricultural land have been withdrawn in the Karaganda region, exceeding the planned indicators by almost 24%, reports the press service of the regional akim.
“Since the beginning of the year, as a result of the work carried out in the region, 161,064 hectares of agricultural land have been returned to the state. The plan outlined by the Land Resources Management Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been exceeded by 23.9%,” reads the report.
In addition, land users have already begun work on 11.5 thousand hectares.
The bulk of the returned plots – 94.3 thousand hectares – were returned voluntarily, another 46.7 thousand hectares became state property due to the expiration of the lease.
Lease agreements for 4,050 hectares were cancelled, and 12 thousand hectares were seized by court order. Court proceedings on 6,335 hectares are ongoing.
