Drugs from USA were delivered to Kazakhstan under the guise of postal parcels

Astana. October 14. KazTAG – Drugs from the USA were delivered to Kazakhstan under the guise of postal parcels, reports the Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM).
“The import of a large batch of drugs from the USA in the form of postal parcels was suppressed by the Financial Monitoring Agency in Almaty. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, ten citizens of Kazakhstan have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility,” said AFM representative Alibek Abdilov.
They were detained in Almaty, Petropavlovsk, Semey, Kokshetau, Shymkent and Ust-Kamenogorsk. According to the AFM, Kazakhstanis received mail from the United States containing narcotics (“marijuana” and “cannabis extract”) under the guise of consumer goods, with the aim of further selling them in the country.
As a result, about 8 kg of dried marijuana and almost 15 kg of cannabis extract (hashish oil) were seized from illegal circulation.
