Cars over 20 years old account for almost 45% of vehicle fleet in Kazakhstan

Astana. October 16. KazTAG – Cars over 20 years old account for almost 45% of the vehicle fleet in Kazakhstan, reports the National Statistics Agency.
“By year of production, the share of cars produced no more than 3 years ago accounts for 6.2% of the vehicle fleet, those operated from 3 to 7 years – 13.1%, from 7 to 10 years – 11.9%, from 10 to 20 years – 23.8%, the share of cars produced over 20 years accounts for 44.8%,” reads the report.
The share of cars manufactured more than 20 years ago was 50.8% two years ago. In general, 141.5 thousand cars were registered in Kazakhstan as of August, compared to last year, their number has increased by 44.1%. In terms of regions, the number of cars manufactured more than 20 years is highest in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region, 206 thousand and 361 thousand cars, respectively, as well as in Zhambyl - 190.5 thousand units, Karaganda - 183.3 thousand units and East Kazakhstan regions - 177.3 thousand units. The cities of Almaty (55.3 thousand), Astana (42 thousand) and Almaty region (22.4 thousand) are in the lead in cars manufactured no more than 3 years.
