Airport services in Kazakhstan make up no more than 5% of ticket’s fare

Astana. December 23. KazTAG – Airport services in Kazakhstan make up no more than 5% of the cost of an air ticket’s fare, said Erlan Ospanov, representative of the Civil Aviation Association.
“Airport services (in Kazakhstan – KazTAG) make up no more than 5% of the fare of an air ticket. There is still a margin there,” Ospanov said, speaking at the Majilis session.
According to him, the problems with the development of our airports are that airline revenues are not regulated. And airport tariffs are regulated. This is the main reason why airports lag behind airlines in development.
“If airlines can lease aircraft, this is normal global practice, then airports cannot lease either a runway or a passenger terminal,” Osanov added.
