A record 18.9 million sq. m of housing commissioned in Kazakhstan over past 10 years

Astana. February 7. KazTAG – Over the past 10 years, instead of the planned 18 million sq. m, 18.9 million sq. m have been commissioned, which was more than 172 thousand housing units, said Kanat Sharlapayev , Minister of Industry and Construction.
“Over the past 10 years, we have achieved record figures in housing construction. Instead of the planned 18 million sq. m, 18.9 million sq. m have been commissioned, which is more than 172 thousand housing units (index of actual volume – 106.4%),” he said, summing up the results of the year.
In addition, the manufacturing industry recorded growth of 5.9%, with metallurgy growing by 6.9%, mechanical engineering by 9.7%, and chemistry by 7.7%. 180 new projects worth T1.3 trillion have been commissioned, and 14.4 thousand jobs have been created.
