Tokayev received Secretary of Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu

Astana. February 12. KazTAG – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu, reports Akorda.
“I believe that your visit is of great importance in terms of deepening cooperation between our countries, which has been increasing in fast pace. The state visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan in November last year was of great importance. It is very important that economic cooperation between our countries is also developing successfully. We have reached agreements on 171 projects, and more than 50 projects have already reached the final stage of implementation. Russia is now one of the main investors in the Kazakh economy. I think that cooperation between law enforcement agencies and defense departments of our states is also developing successfully. I believe that your visit is a good opportunity to once again review what is being done in our cooperation and agree on new areas of interaction between our countries," said Tokayev.
The parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation and regional security.
In turn, Sergey Shoigu thanked the head of state for the opportunity to meet and discuss current issues of regional security.
"The relations that have developed between our fraternal peoples, between our countries, are constantly maintained at a very high level. The volume of trade and our joint projects is impressive. Of course, our interaction is not limited to bilateral cooperation. We are actively working within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the CSTO, the CIS and the EAEU. The projects that were initiated, including by Kazakhstan, are successfully and actively developing," said Sergey Shoigu.
