Tokayev received Chairman of Board of Directors of Euronews

Astana. December 19. KazTAG – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Pedro Vargas David, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euronews, reports Akorda.
“During the meeting,  the parties discussed cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Euronews channel, one of the world leaders in the field of multilingual information television broadcasting,” reads the report.
Tokayev called the opening of the regional Euronews hub in Kazakhstan a very important event that will provide new opportunities for a wider acquaintance of the world audience with the economic, cultural and tourist potential of not only Kazakhstan, but also the whole of Central Asia.
Tokayev noted that the media platform will contribute to the promotion of dialogue and mutual understanding between the countries of the region and the European Union.
"Pedro Vargas David spoke about plans to implement the Euronews Academy project, aimed at training Kazakhstani journalists in modern technologies and instilling high professional standards in them, which will serve to increase the competitiveness of the domestic media sphere," reads the report.
