“The head of state held a meeting with Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko,” reads the report.
The visit of the Russian delegation, according to the head of state, was an important event for the development of strategic partnership between the two countries.
Tokayev outlined the importance of inter-parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between states.
Valentina Matviyenko, in turn, expressed gratitude for the reception and conveyed greetings from Russian leader Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the productivity of his recent visit.
"The visit was indeed very productive and effective. The main thing is that our cooperation, which is gaining momentum, is mutually beneficial and mutually respectful. Thanks to the efforts of the heads of state of Kazakhstan and Russia, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented level. And no matter what area we take: mutual trade, investments, major projects in industry, energy, cooperation in agriculture, these are real examples of a strong strategic partnership, an alliance between our states," said Valentina Matviyenko.
The parties discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian exchange, as well as further plans for the development of bilateral relations.
