Tokayev met with Emir of Qatar

Astana.  July 4. KazTAG — President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, reports Akorda.
“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,  Emir of the State of Qatar, for his personal participation in the SCO summit and support for Kazakhstan’s international initiatives,” the statement said.
Tokayev called Qatar one of Kazakhstan’s closest partners, sharing common goals and aspirations with our country.
“I would like to emphasize our commitment to close relations with your country. I have pleasant memories of my visit to Doha, which was a great event in terms of giving a very serious impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation. We have raised our relationship to the level of strategic partnership. During my visit, very important documents were signed. I think that the government of Kazakhstan will do everything possible to ensure that these agreements are successfully implemented,” said Tokayev.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said that it was a great honor for him to visit Astana again and take part in the SCO summit.
“Of course, I remember your very important visit to Doha. You mentioned that we have raised our relations to the level of strategic. I'm very proud of this relationship. Our countries still have a lot of work to do, including in strengthening economic and investment ties,” the Emir of Qatar emphasized.
