Putin: The SCO's refusal to place weapons in space is a signal to the whole world

Astana. July 5. KazTAG – The refusal of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries to place weapons in space is a signal for the whole world, said Vladimir Putin, Russian President.
“This is a platform for coordinating positions. The principles that the SCO declares also matter when they diverge throughout the world. For example, we agreed in the Astana  declaration that all SCO countries oppose the deployment of any weapons in space. This is still a signal to the rest of the world about how we feel about the militarization of outer space,” Putin said at the SCO summit.
The summit took place in Astana on July 3-4.
