“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Masdar CEO Mohammed Al Ramahi and ADNOC Chief Executive Officer for Downstream Khalid Salmeen,” the statement said on Wednesday.
At the meeting with Al Ramahi, the head of state emphasized that the partnership between Kazakhstan and Masdar has reached a qualitatively new level. He noted that the parties had successfully signed all the necessary agreements for the implementation of a major project to build a 1 GW wind power plant in the Zhambyl region. The volume of investments in this project will amount to $1.4 billion.
“In turn, Mohammed Al Ramahi informed the president about the company's plans to begin construction work and expressed interest in using local components to manufacture wind turbines within the framework of this project. The parties shared the views regarding the further expansion of Masdar's presence in Kazakhstan and the implementation of new significant projects in the field of renewable energy and digitalization,” said the statement.
Tokayev also metKhalid Salmeen, CEO of Refining and Marketing at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
The head of state emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the further development of partnership relations with ADNOC.
Khalid Salmeen outlined significant prospects for cooperation between the national oil and gas companies of both countries.
“The interlocutors discussed the implementation of joint investment projects in the oil and gas industry, as well as in the field of geological exploration. Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence,” Akorda added.
