Over 90 people with dual citizenship have been identified in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year

Astana. January 31. KazTAG — Over 90 people with dual citizenship have been identified in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year, reports the press service of the National Security Committee.
“Since the beginning of 2025, the NSC Border Service has identified 91 cases of border crossing by individuals who simultaneously hold citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan and another state at checkpoints,” reads the report.
The detained individuals have been transferred to the police for further investigation.
In fact,  1,190 cases of dual citizenship were identified on the State Border in 2024.
“The bulk of the offenses were committed by citizens of neighboring countries,” the report said.
