Man who put his kidney up for sale for T9 million sentenced in Aktobe

Aktobe. January 21. KazTAG – A man who put his kidney up for sale for T9 million has been sentenced in Aktobe.
“By the court’s verdict, the man was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 24 – Part 1 of Article 116 (coercion to remove or illegal removal of human organs and tissues) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to imprisonment for one year, with the application of the rules of Article 63 of the Criminal Code, it was decided to consider the sentence as conditional, with the establishment of probationary control for the entire term of the sentence,” the press service of Court No. 2 of Aktobe reported on Tuesday.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
"In June 2024, the man being unemployed and without a permanent source of income, posted an ad in a Telegram channel about selling one of his kidneys. He estimated the cost of one kidney at T9 million. In September 2024, witness B., who cooperated with law enforcement agencies, responded to the ad. They came to an agreement on the purchase and sale the kidney. After undergoing the necessary medical examinations, the defendant was detained upon receiving T5 million from the witness," the court clarified.
