Lukashenko arrived at the SCO summit in Astana

Astana.  July 4. KazTAG - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko arrived at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana, reports the press service of the prime minister.
“The plane of the President of Belarus landed in Astana. Alexander Lukashenko was met at the capital’s airport by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koishybaev,” said the statement.
Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where the issue of full membership of Belarus in the interstate association will be considered.
Kazakhstan and Belarus are actively developing bilateral trade and economic relations. Thus, over the past three years, the annual trade turnover between the two countries has approached, and at times exceeded, the $1 billion mark. Over the 4 months of 2024, the volume of mutual trade between Kazakhstan and Belarus reached $249.3 million.
As part of industrial cooperation, 10 joint projects for the assembly of agricultural machinery were implemented worth almost $200 million, creating 1.6 thousand jobs. Four more large projects are under implementation.
