Feminist event disrupted in Almaty; organizers detained

Almaty. February 14. KazTAG – A group of women disrupted a training session on human rights held by the feminist organization Feminita in Almaty, while the organizers were soon detained by police.
“A group of aggressively-minded women, including Bagila Baltabayeva, burst into a hotel during a coffee break where a human rights training session was taking place and disrupted the event, accusing those gathered of some kind of “violation of the law.” Subsequently, police entered the building and detained Gulzada Serzhan and Zhanar Sekerbayeva. Both Feminita participants were taken to the Medeu District police station,”  reports the Human Rights Bureau.
