The Canadian Embassy in Astana has invited journalists to brief the heads of 23 diplomatic missions on recent incidents affecting independent journalists.
Dinara Egeubayeva, Samal Ibrayeva and Vadim Boreyko were invited. They shared their stories and discussed the impact on independent journalism in Kazakhstan.
"The international community has demonstrated its commitment to supporting press freedom in Kazakhstan," said the message.
The car of Dinara Egeubayeva had been set on fire, unknown people had tried to block the door to Vadim Boreyko's apartment. Also in Almaty there were six attacks on the editorial office of Elmedia and threats to the editorial office of Orda.
