Rate on deposits on interbank market of Kazakhstan increased by almost 1% in December

Astana. January 30. KazTAG - Banks placed deposits on the interbank market for almost T41 trillion in December 2024, at a rate that increased by 0.92% over the month to 14.7%, reports the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
“Deposits in December 2024 were placed on the interbank market in tenge, dollars and euros: almost T41 trillion in tenge deposits were placed, at a rate of 14.7%, $8.6 billion in dollars, at a rate of almost 2.9%, and $2.5 billion in euros, at a rate of 2.6%,” reads the report.
According to the document, loans in tenge on the interbank market in December were issued for T3.3 billion, at a rate of 15.2%, in dollars $6.3 million were issued at an average weighted interest rate of 4.4%, loans in euros were not issued.
