Petrosun, previously affiliated with Kulibayev's structures, will be liquidated

Almaty. December 4. KazTAG -  Affiliated with the structures of the son-in-law of the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, oligarch Timur Kulibayev until August 2022 and transferred to KazMunayGas, the largest company in the tolling oil refining and oil products trading market - Petrosun LLP, will be liquidated.
"The activities of Petrosun LLP will be gradually transferred to KC Energy Group LLP," reads the interim condensed consolidated financial statements of JSC NC KazMunayGas.
KC Energy Group LLP was created on terms similar to the current activities of Petrosun LLP, with the same composition of participants and the same management mechanisms.
At the end of 2023, KazMunayGas and CNPC International Kazakhstan, already jointly controlling Petrosun, created another joint company to operate in the fuel market - KC Energy Group LLP.
