Kazakhstan will return assets through Interpol

Astana. December 4. KazTAG – A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Astana between the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Committee for the Return of Assets of the Prosecutor General's Office, said the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Astana between the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Committee for the Return of Assets of the Prosecutor General's Office. This step is aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fight against economic crimes and illegal withdrawal of assets,” reads the report.
According to the agreements, the parties will join forces, exchange information and best practices to more effectively suppress illegal financial transactions and assist in international investigations.
The initiative will allow us to quickly resolve the issues of returning assets belonging to the state and citizens, as well as ensure economic security.
“The memorandum confirms our determination to ensure transparency and fairness, as well as to strengthen global efforts to return assets withdrawn illegally,” said Merey Makulzhan, Head of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
