Number of tourists in Astana increased by 14% in 2024

Astana. March 13. KazTAG –1.5 million tourists visited Astana in 2024, which is 14% more than the year before, reported the press service of the capital's akim.
"In 2024, the capital received 1.5 million tourists, which is 14% more than in 2023. This was announced at a briefing in the communications service by Khalel Akimzhanov, head of the capital's department for investment and entrepreneurship development,” reads the report.
Among foreign guests, the largest number of tourists came from Russia, China, Germany, Turkey, the USA and South Korea.
Business tourism, medical tourism, as well as cultural, sports and gastronomic areas are developing actively in the capital.
Over the year, 168 international events were held in Astana, including the SCO summit, WGC, Automechanika, Enactus and Comic Con. More than 300 events of this level are planned for 2025.
In February 2025, the Astana Tourism Development Center opened in Astana. Its main goal is to turn the city into a key business and event hub in Central Asia.
