“The word “right now” is absolutely inappropriate here. Why? Because in fact, there are many factors here, because smog appears, and when they blame, say, only industrial facilities, I do not quite agree. Why? Today, the number of vehicles has increased. Today, the number of private households has increased. This is the so-called private sector. (...) Well, what can I tell you? Well, let me tell you that the situation will improve in 3-5 years, and I believe in it,” Nysanbayev said at a government briefing on Tuesday.
According to the minister, measures to correct the smog situation have already begun. As an example, he cited the gasification of the private sector in Almaty and Astana.
"It is clear that we have adopted long-term operational documents, such as a roadmap, a map for improving the environmental situation in the region, a plan for environmental measures for each individual production enterprise. At the same time, today there is also a question about small thermal power plants, transport. In general, taking into account our target indicators and plans, in any case, we are moving in this direction. But to say that today we will take measures, and tomorrow there will be no smog? There are many factors here," the minister added.
