"We are looking, it's not that simple. All measures are being taken. We are conducting an internal investigation. Everyone will be punished. The case was opened on the basis of negligence. We will hold the guilty parties accountable," Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Lepekha responded behind the scenes.
Earlier, a source familiar with the situation told KazTAG that a suspect in aggravated rape had escaped from a temporary detention facility in the city of Talgar in the Almaty region. It was later reported that checkpoints had been set up to detain the escapee.
