Over 15 thousand hemp bushes destroyed in Kazakhstan

Astana. November 12. KazTAG - Over 15 thousand hemp bushes worth T7.5 billion have been destroyed in Kazakhstan, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"With the involvement of two helicopters of the National Guard, aerial reconnaissance was carried out in the territories of Almaty, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions and Zhetysu and Ulytau regions with a total area of about 600 thousand square kilometers. A total of 42 sorties were carried out. 19 drug crops were discovered and registered. Over 15 thousand bushes of "Indian" and "Dutch" varieties of hemp with a total weight of 3 tons were destroyed. That is, over 166 thousand single doses were not allowed into circulation, the average cost of which on the drug market would have been T7.5 billion. 12 suspects were detained and placed in temporary detention facilities, including one who was wanted. Two units of firearms were confiscated," said Shyngys Alekeshev, head of the department, official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is reported that during the operational search, 1607 crimes were identified, including: 799 cases of sale; 194 cases of illegal possession of drugs; 245 cases of cultivation.
21.5 tons of drugs were seized from illegal circulation, including: over 1.5 kg of heroin; about 4.5 tons of marijuana; over 200 kg of hashish; 187 kg of synthetics; more than 16 tons of cannabis plants; 180 thousand bushes of drug-containing plants.
