“1 billion cubic meters of water were sent to the Northern Aral Sea from October 2024 to January of this year. This is 100 million cubic meters more than the volume planned earlier. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the volume of water in the sea will increase to 23.4 billion cubic meters,” reads the report.
The use of water-saving technologies and the leveling of rice fields in the Kyzylorda region using laser planners saved about 200 million cubic meters of water, which were sent to the Northern Aral Sea.
“The average yield increased from 40-55 centners to 70-80 centners per hectare. 4.4 million seedlings were planted on the dried-up territory of the Greater Aral Sea. By the end of 2025, the total area of greening of the Aral Sea bed should reach 1.1 million hectares,” reads the report.
