Son of ex-deputy prime minister of Dagestan found guilty of the murder of Kazakh woman Tomiris Baysafa

Astana. June 27. KazTAG - The son of the ex-deputy prime minister of Dagestan has been found guilty of the murder of Kazakh woman Tomiris Baysafa, the Moscow city news agency reports.
“On June 24, 2022, the Izmailovsky District Court of Moscow, on the basis of a unanimous verdict of a jury, found Murtuzali Mejidov guilty of committing the murder of student Tomiris Baysafa. The court sentenced Majidov to 13 years in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony,” reads the report.
In April 2018, 21-year-old student Tomiris Baisafa from Kazakhstan fell out of a window on the fourth floor of the university building,  she died in hospital three weeks later. Eyewitnesses reported that before falling out of the window, she quarreled with her boyfriend, Murtuzali Majidov. Then a criminal case was initiated on the fact of bringing to suicide. Murtuzali Majidov was detained and arrested two years after the death of the girl. He was subsequently charged with murder. However, Majidov was later acquitted by the court. At the end of October 2021, the acquittal was overturned.
