Aktobe.  August 12. KazTAG - Residents of Aktobe are against the construction of a sports complex worth KZT324.5 million, Diapazon reports.
“Residents are collecting signatures against the construction and want to send a petition to the mayor of the city Askhat Shakharov and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. According to the deputy head of the construction department Bauyrzhan Zhanturin, the cost of the project is KZT324.4 million,” the publication reports.
Zhanturin also explains that it is planned to build a sports building in six months, T50 million has already been allocated.
Residents are dissatisfied, now this place is the school stadium and citizens are happy to spend time there. The construction will result in cutting down trees, disrupting communications.
“I am against any development. There is nowhere else to walk! My husband walks here, I go to the stadium with my children every day. Children play here in winter and summer. The area here is very busy!" the resident says.
The head of the regional sports Evgeny Goncharov claims that no one will touch the stadium. The sports complex is necessary for children, there will be free trainings, grappling, jiu-jitsu and so on.
