"The population of Kazakhstan in 2024 increased by more than 252 thousand people and amounted to 20,286,084 people as of January 1, 2025," reads the report.
The urban population exceeded 12.77 million people, the rural population decreased to 7.511 million.
The highest population growth rates were recorded in the cities of Astana - by 6.9%, Almaty - by 2.9% and Shymkent - by 2.8%.
