Oligarch Klebanov made his first millions on VIP planes for Nazarbayev - ex-head of CAEPCO

Astana. September 14. KazTAG - Oligarch Alexander Klebanov made his first millions on VIP planes for ex-President Nursultan Nazarbayev, said Erkyn Amirkhanov , ex-head of CAEPCO JSC, a famous businessman.
“Klebanov had a direct connection to the Bek Air company - he was one of its key shareholders along with Nurlan Zhumasultanov. In general, the aviation business was one of the main directions for Klebanov until the appearance of the Pavlodar refinery project. It was in the murky transactions of purchasing the first VIP aircraft for President Nazarbayev, that was when Klebanov and his old partner Dmitry Streshinsky made the first tens of millions of dollars in net profit... In the late 90s, he initiated the purchase of the first Boeing 747 for Nazarbayev,” Amirkhanov said in an interview journalist Aset Matayev.
According to the businessman, this plane flew to Kazakhstan only once.
“Then a series of strange stories started, which ultimately led to his loss. And this is a distinctive feature of all the projects Klebanov was involved in - their non-transparency... The friendship and partnership with Dmitry Streshinsky, a well-known arms dealer from Ukrainian warehouses, led Klebanov to his first problems with law enforcement agencies in Europe. For many years, even in 2000-2010, he had constant problems with crossing European borders...” he added.
