Not a single Kazakh citizen from Russia’s colonies was recruited to fight in war – MFA

Astana. April 30. KazTAG – Not a single Kazakh citizen from Russia’s colonies was recruited to fight in the war between Russia and Ukraine, said Aibek Smadiyarov,  representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"It is not true. Not a single citizen of Kazakhstan who is serving a sentence in Russian prisons or is under investigation has been recruited for military action. I can guarantee this 100%,” Smadiyarov said at a briefing.
A fake reports went viral on social networks saying that more than 100 Kazakh prisoners in Russia are being forcibly sent to war. According to Smadiyarov, no more than 10 Kazakhstani people are currently under investigation.
“They found work in Telegram channels or social networks. Relatives know the details. The consul is in touch with them and their relatives,” Smadiyarov said.
