“18,035 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland and received the status of repatriate in 2024. In total, 1 million 146.4 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have returned to the republic since 1991,” said the report.
As of December 1, 45.4% of the repatriates came from China, 38.9% from Uzbekistan, 6% from Mongolia, 5.8% from Turkmenistan, 2.7% from Russia, and 1.3% from other countries. Among the migrants, 57.1% are able-bodied, 33.4% are minors, and 9.5% are pensioners.
“17.5% have higher education, 25% have secondary specialized education, 54.7% have general secondary education, and 2.8% have no education,” the ministry reported.
