More than 1,000 ethnic Kazakhs have received recreates status since beginning of 2025 in Kazakhstan

Astana. February 24. KazTAG — More than 1,000 ethnic Kazakhs have received the status of repatriates since the beginning of 2025 in Kazakhstan, reports the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.
“In 2025, 1,070 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland and received the status of repatriates. In total, more than 1 million 149 thousand ethnic Kazakhs have returned to the republic since 1991,” said the report.
More than half of the repatriates (51.9%) who arrived in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2025 are from China, 37.5% are from Uzbekistan, 7.1% are from Turkmenistan, 1.8% are from Russia and 1.7% came from other countries.
As of February 1, 2025, the number of ethnic migrants of working age is 60.2%, minors - 32.9% and pensioners - 6.8%.
