Ministry of Energy confirmed shutdown of four power units at Ekibastuz GRES-1

Pavlodar. June 28. KazTAG – The Ministry of Energy confirmed shutdown of four power units at Ekibastuz GRES-1.
“On June 28 at 5.24 a technological violation occurred at Ekibastuz State District Power Plant-1 LLP, as a result, power units No. 2, 3, 4, 7 were stopped. The station reduced generation from 2080 MW to 320 MW. Currently, power units No. 2, 4, 8 are in operation. The station's generation capacity is 971 MW. Start-up operations are underway to turn on the remaining units. The Committee for Nuclear and Energy Supervision and Control has launched an investigation into the technological violation,” the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported on Friday.
