“The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev held a meeting in Astana with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), during which he noted that the republic is aimed at intensifying work to reduce methane emissions and called on the international institution to take part in this process,” said the report.
The minister noted that there is a decrease in greenhouse gases.
“In general, we are seeing a downward trend in greenhouse gases in the country’s energy sector. Thus, over five years, methane emissions in the energy sector decreased by 1.2 million tons of CO2-eq. At this stage, we are ready to intensify work in this direction,” said Satkaliyev.
