Increase in vaccination interval with "Sputnik V" is not associated with its shortage – Health Department

Astana. May 5. KazTAG - The increase in the interval of vaccination with Sputnik V from 21 to 45 days is not connected with  shortage of vaccine, said Asel Kalykova, deputy head of the department of sanitary and epidemiological control of Almaty.
“At present, the volume has been supplied in full and the vaccination will be carried out. It is delivered as needed, there is no interruption. This decree states that persons who received the first component before April 21 receive the vaccine with an interval of 21 days, after April 21 - 45 days. An increase in the interval does not affect the strength of the immune response,” she said.
In her words,  193,540 doses of vaccine are available for the second stage.
Earlier it was reported that if it is impossible to vaccinate with the second component on the 45th day (coincidence on weekends, holidays, departure to another settlement, etc.), vaccination is allowed within 90 days.
