Flag of Kazakhstan was raised on Golan Heights

Astana. May 9. KazTAG - The flag of Kazakhstan was raised on the Golan Heights, reported the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan.
“A solemn ceremony of raising the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place at the Fawhar peacekeeping base on the Golan Heights,” said the statement.
The solemn event was attended by the commander of the mission, Lieutenant General Kurmal Nirmal, and the leaders of the peacekeeping contingents operating within it.
“Representing Kazakhstan outside the state is a great honor and responsibility,” said Zhiger Aipov, commander of the national peacekeeping contingent, Lieutenant Colonel. It is noted that this event took place on the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kazakh parliament approved the dispatch of up to 430 peacekeepers to the Golan Heights and a number of other points. UN had issued Kazakhstan a mandate to carry out an independent peacekeeping mission.
