The arenas were built to host the Universiade in 2017. In 2019, the ice palaces were transferred to private hands.
The anti-corruption agency conducted an external analysis of corruption risks in the field of sports financing. At the central level, the analysis was carried out in the work of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, at the regional level - in the regional departments of sports and physical education.
In the Atyrau region, the Ice Palace sports facility, which was unreasonably transferred to a private entrepreneur in 2018, has been returned to the state.
In the West Kazakhstan region, a stadium with a football field, which was under trust management from a private organization, has been returned.
In Shymkent, a 67% share of the Ice Palace sports complex, sold seven years ago for T120 million, has been returned to state ownership.
