"Zhanseit Tuimebayev, akim of the Turkestan region, has appointed A. Userbayev as akim of Turkestan under coordination with the President's office and deputies of city administration," reads the message.
Since December 2017 A. Userbayev worked as a first deputy akim of the South Kazakhstan region.
As it was reported Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, ordered to give the status of the city of Republican significance to Shymkent on June 19, Turkestan became a regional center of created Turkestan region.
