27 crime bosses on international wanted list detained in Kazakhstan in two years

Astana. January 8. KazTAG – 27 crime bosses have been detained in Kazakhstan, including those detained from the international wanted list, reports the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“27 members of the organized crime group, the so-called “criminal bosses” who were on the international wanted list, have been detained,” reads the report.
Over 120 criminal cases related to the activities of the organized crime group have been solved, 13 of them were transnational in nature. More than 600 representatives of the criminal world have been brought to justice.
The presence of six “thieves in law” from neighboring countries has been stopped in the country. The illegal activities of 160 criminal groups involved in extortion and serious crimes have been eliminated.
In addition, over 1,300 cases of extortion have been initiated, and over 400 crimes related to human trafficking have been identified.
“The Ministry will continue a decisive and principled fight against organized groups,” the department declared.
