120 Kazakhstan's peace keepers to be deployed to Lebanon in October 2018

Astana. June 22. KazTAG - 120 Kazakhstan's peacekeepers will be deployed to Lebanon in October 2018, said Talgat Mukhtarov, Deputy Minister of Defense.
"The Parliament has taken the decision. Currently we are working on conclusion of a memorandum with the armed forces of India which describes all the technical aspects on provision, terms of service, and responsibility. After the agreement signing we plan to send our group of 120 people in October this year to the mission in Lebanon," he said.
He expressed gratefulness to the Government of India for accepting Kazakhstan's peacekeeping group in its national contingent in Lebanon which has been in operation since 1978.
"As far as Kazakhstan has no experience of its contingent deployment in the independent responsibility zone, it is expedient to send the group in consistence of battalion of more experienced state," he added.
